Ilford PQ Universal 5 Liter

ILFORD PQ Universal is a versatile liquid paper developer designed for clean, consistent handling and excellent storage stability. Mixed at 1:9, it delivers a subtle warm to neutral image tone on most papers, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of darkroom workflows.

In tray processing, PQ Universal can also be used for ILFORD technical films and certain other technical films. It is suitable for general sheet film development when a fast-acting, high-contrast developer is required and large enlargement is not the main priority.

For film use, the developer can be diluted in two ways:

  • 1:9 for higher contrast
  • 1:19 for more moderate image contrast

This developer is intended for use at room temperature, typically around 20 °C. It is not recommended for standard 35mm or roll film formats, nor for high-temperature or machine processing applications.

Features

  • Liquid paper developer, 5 liters
  • Makes up to 50 liters of working solution
  • Designed for 1:9 dilution
  • Produces a slightly warm or neutral tone on most paper types
  • Supplied as 1 bottle
